WebCert has released a number of software updates to various modules and reports in response to some problems that have been previously identified. Included in this release, we have also included some minor improvements to various aspects of the system.
After some period of evaluation, trialling and testing we have now completed the upgrade to our BI reporting platform, JasperSoft which will provide us with the opportunity to deliver stronger reporting and much-enhanced reporting capabilities. This has however required updates to all existing reports. This latest release of WebCert now supports the new reporting platform and all existing reports will be gradually updated to ensure they run under the platform.
The first and most significant of the report updates under the new reporting platform is the Project Dashboard. The new dashboard provides the same detail as previously available but with a much easier to understand layout and style.
We have rectified the problem where changes made when updating the Summary Item balances in the side panel were not reflecting the changes made when saving the details.
Previously if you changed project selection whilst viewing a project’s milestones you were presented with a blank screen. The milestones for the newly selected project are now displayed as required.
An oversight in the previous code would not allow editing of the Achieved Date on any milestone once saved. Users are now able to change or clear the Achieved Date for any project milestone previously set.
There was an issue with setting up a new project that allowed for the ‘Contract Costs’ cost group to be de-selected from EVM analysis which lead to later problems in the project. As this is a mandatory Cost Group for EVM analysis we have corrected this problem
The ‘Export Project’ option from the Admin | Projects list view now correctly exports the full list of all projects.
We have modified the behaviour of WebCert when a certification period is ‘Submitted’. Previously the Cashflow balances for that period were closed off and unable to be edited. This has now changed allowing you to still edit the balances for ‘Submitted’ periods however, once the Certification Period is ‘Assessed’ by way of a WPA then the cashflow balances for that period are no longer editable.
We have also changed the behaviour of Releasing a WPA in that the relevant period status will be set as ‘Submitted’ rather than ‘Pending’ as was the case previously.
Previously when you copied a project you could not change the Reporting Date for the new Project. This has been rectified and new Projects can have their Reporting Date set as required. The reporting Type (monthly/Weekly) however is inherited from the original project copied.
To further assist with the review of costs relating to each Summary Item, we now highlight the balances in the Budget Summary view where the sum of the Cost Item budgets do not balance to the Budget value of the Summary Item itself. This would indicate that not all costs have been fully assigned to that Summary Item
It was found that users could not edit the Budget set against certain Summary Items which has now been corrected.
It was found that where documents uploaded to a project contained a “+” within the physical filename, they could not be later downloaded. We have changed to code to include the “+” as an acceptable special character in filenames of files uploaded to projects.
The function to export the cost details for Variations has been enhanced to now include the following additional columns:
We have updated how Variations are presented in the Cost Details view now separating the Provisional from the non-provisional variations and providing sub totals for each group as well as for all variations. This should make it easier for users to interpret results and reconcile balances back to the Budget Summary view.
We have fixed the issue where when printing the Cost Categories view form the Admin menu, reports produced showed a blank first page.
We have added a new Permission into the user Roles that enables a role to modify the Budget for Summary Items. The Permission is ‘Manage Budget Summary’ under the section ‘Project’.
AN issue that did not fully copy the project details when you elect to copy an existing project has been corrected. Any project copied to a new project will now include the original ‘Initial Budget balances for the Summary items and carry across the reporting type and date details.
The bug that enabled documents to be uploaded without supplying a ‘Document Name’ lead to a problem in that users were then unable to edit the document details in the side panel. We have now made the ‘Document Name’ field mandatory to overcome this problem.
This function now exports all project details correctly.
Reports exported to PDF were opening in the current browser TAB providing users with no means of returning to the WebCert system. These PDF exports now open in a new browser TAB with the original WebCert TAB remaining in place.
The Cost Detail screens were not allowing users to sort results by the various columns. This has now been rectified.
The Edit Profile button was unable to be accessed due to overlaying information. This has been adjusted to enable users to click on this button to edit their personal details.
When the Work Progress Assessments were submitted with longer comments the system was failing and would not update the details. We have extended this field to now handle content of an unlimited number of characters.
A problem identified with how the results were being presented has been corrected so that the Project Summary Report now correctly presents results sorted in the correct manner.
The Print Screen function now correctly shows all budget values of the cost items correctly.
A performance issue with running this report for a large number of projects has now been rectified.
