Last night a major update to the WebCErt 4 system was completed to deliver a series of feature enhancements, customisations and bug fixes. The details of the updates applied in Release 4.1.0-1 are summarised below.
Change Requests
This new module will provide CEM the capacity to capture specific data related to project capital funding form the Viv Gov’t and the subsequent export of that data each period across all relevant projects
Related documents may now be attached to any selected project period and/or cost item within that project period. To assign any document to a project period and/or cost item, go to the Document Management option, select your document and assign as required from the document details in the side panel.
For Consultant Licensees, Client logos can now be customised for each Client to be displayed in all screens and reports
Contacts / Users records now include the ability to hold the individual’s business role/title.
Work Progress Assessments completed for projects now include 3 additional dimensions, Scope, Governance and OH&S. We have also re-arranged the order in which these dimensions are listed to make more sense in reporting.
This is an optional
feature of relevance to certain users subject to how they wish to manage
approval claims on non-provisional variations. It allows for the independent
setting of an ‘Approved’ value as distinct from the ‘Claimed’ value of all
non-provisional variations. Not using this feature will have no impact on
processing current or future project variations.
It will only be available to users if the appropriate Permissions are set in
the Role assigned to the users. By default, these 'Permissions' are not set.
This is an optional feature of
relevance to certain users subject to how they wish to run and manage cost
claims. It allows for the independent setting of a ‘Certified Claim Value’ as
distinct from the ‘Claimed to Date’ value of all cost item claims for any
period. Not using this feature will have no impact on processing current or
future project variations.
It will only be available to users if the appropriate Permissions are set in
the Role assigned to the users. By default, these 'Permissions' are not set.
Bug Fixes
A series of general problems being experienced with 2 known users unable to access the live system as well as some minor have also been resolved through this latest release of WebCert
We have resolved a bug where it was found that where a project period re-ordered the cost items, subsequent certification periods added to the project did not maintain that order
In certain situations subject to the date chosen for the key project milestones, the system would incorrectly set the next certification period by setting it the same as the one it was created after. This has been corrected.
The failure to send out project notifications to the Project Director and Project Managers have been rectified. Users are reminded however to be sure to enable this feature in their individual profiles as by default, receipt of notification emails and reminders are separately set to 'disabled.'
This was not a bug found in the production system but one we rectified in the development of the new features and bug fixes.
An error in incorrectly assigning multiple users to a project role was discovered in certain situations which has now been rectified.
This was observed when reviewing a number of projects which users managed to work around in various ways. What was happening was that if a Provisional Sum Cost item was set up with an initial budget and forecast cost, as provisional variations were raised they were adjusting the Forecast Cost on the Provisional Sum Cost Item to equal the sum of all provisional variations posted against that Provisional Sum Cost Item.
This has now been changed such that the Forecast Cost originally set on the Provisional Sum Cost Item remains as set unless the sum of the provisional variations Forecast Cost exceeds that original value. In this case, it will be increased to equal that value and will remain at that value until such time further provisional variations are added resulting in an increase again.
This problem has now been corrected and all cents entered on any cost will remain showing.
Where a cost item name was being edited changing the case of any characters, these changes were not being recognised and saved. This has been corrected.
It was found that in certain projects, there was a rounding error in the Cost Details summary screen where the sum of the cost items does not reconcile to the summary total shown at the bottom of the screen by 1 cent. This has been corrected.
This has now been corrected but users are advised that they must ensure that in order to receive these reminder notifications by email, they must enable this option in their individual profiles.
The problem experienced with some users has been rectified
We have updated the search algorithm to provide better results when searching on character strings to find projects
The system has been updated to now correctly allow for images to be uploaded to the system and associated with any project period and/or cost item.
In the case of new users, they were experiencing confusion on first logging in to the system if they had not been assigned to any project roles or because they had not yet selected a default project to work in. An updated system message previously shown on the screen in these situations, now more clearly explains the action required of the user.
Some confusion was being experienced with how to re-order cost items in the Cost Details screen. We have made changes which will hopefully alleviate much of the previous confusion.
Minor changes have been made over how system error and warning messages are displayed in the various side panels so as to make it clearer to the user what actions they may need to take to correct errors in data entry etc.
